"In Transwitch, we use 3rd party simulation and back-end tools in the Cadence
Virtuoso integrated environment. Tools like Hercules DRC/LVS, Star-RCXT, Hspice,
Netlist creation, GDS out, etc. Integrated GUI of those tools are not always exists or
convenient to use and they are all very different. FlexTask gives us a cockpit that allows
fast launch of all those tools in a very controlled manner. It allows easy control of the
used options for every tool. An additional benefit is that Technology and Project specific
options are defined and managed in a central location through FlexTask interface and are
transparent to users. Also we use FlexTask CAD-utilities to support our methodology from
remote location effectively. In many special cases we use an ability to extend FlexTask
functionality by our additional requirements. The flow with FlexTask makes life easier
both for layout and design teams."
